Mosquito Control
If you are experiencing a mosquito problem around your home, there is a nearby water source serving as a mosquito breeding site.
Mosquitoes breed in as little as 1/4 inch of standing water. Summit produces a range of products for combatting mosquitoes. Our best-known mosquito control is Mosquito Dunks®, which kills mosquito larvae by releasing the biological larvicide B.t.i. (Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis). Using B.t.i., we can sabotage the growth cycle of the mosquito larvae.
When female mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water treated with a Mosquito Dunk®, the mosquito larvae will hatch, begin to eat the B.t.i. contained in the Mosquito Dunk®, and die. Utilizing the same mode of action for control of mosquito larvae, Mosquito Bits® can be sprinkled in marshy swampy areas for a shock to quickly annihilate the larval population.
When standing water is not on your property but you still have a mosquito problem, they could be coming from an adjacent property. Summit Mosquito & Gnat Barrier can provide a virtual wall to both repel and kill adult mosquitoes, allowing you to enjoy your backyard.

Mosquito Dunks®
America’s favorite biological mosquito larvicide is approved for organic production by the US EPA in accordance with the USDA’s National Organic Program. The B.t.i. in Mosquito Dunks® is a bacterium that’s deadly to mosquito larvae but harmless to other living things. Mosquito Dunks®, which look like small beige donuts, float on standing water and naturally kill mosquito larvae before they become adults. Each sustained release Dunk® treats 100 square feet of surface water, regardless of depth, and keeps killing for 30 days or more.
Mosquito Bits®
Mosquito Bits® contain the same active ingredient as Mosquito Dunks® (B.t.i.) Mosquito Bits® are designed to release the B.t.i. immediately upon contact with standing water. This “Quick Kill” feature provides rapid control of mosquito larvae and is designed to be used in areas that are more difficult to treat with Mosquito Dunks®. Mosquito Bits® are also the biological control for fungus gnats. Fungus gnat larvae reside in moist, rich soil and feed on fungi, organic matter, and tender plant roots. Break the life cycle by watering your plants with a "tea" made from Mosquito Bits®. This will introduce B.t.i. into the soil, which when consumed by the fungus gnat larvae will be fatal to the larvae.

To further reduce your chances of being bitten, spray Mosquito & Gnat Barrier in your backyard. Now you can enjoy your backyard without the annoyance of mosquitoes and gnats. This residual insecticide contains permethrin that provides up to four weeks of control.
