Biological Caterpillar & Webworm Control

Summit's Biological Caterpillar and Webworm Control’s active ingredient is Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki (BTK), a species specific biological larvicide that kills only leaf eating caterpillar pests (Lepidoptera). It effectively kills cabbage worm, tomato hornworm, tent caterpillar, fall webworm, Gypsy moth, and many more destructive caterpillar pests. In order to be effective, Caterpillar & Webworm control must be eaten by the caterpillar. The caterpillar soon stops feeding and dies within one to five days. Caterpillars are most susceptible to Btk when they are in the early developmental stages. This 100% natural alternative to synthetic insecticides will not harm birds, earthworms, or beneficial insects such as honeybees and lady bugs. It may be used on edible plants, fruits, and vegetables up to day of harvest and is OMRI® listed and approved for use in organic gardening.

Summit’s Biological Caterpillar and Webworm Control is harmful only to the larval stage of the insect order lepidoptera (caterpillars), and may be used up to and including the day of harvest on fruits and vegetables.  It is harmless to pets when used as directed.

Summit’s Biological Caterpillar and Webworm Control should be applied when the caterpillars are first noticed and then repeat application every 5 to 7 days while they are still active.  Heavier infestations may require more frequent application.

Summit’s Biological Caterpillar and Webworm Control is available in pint concentrate, quart concentrate, and quart hose-end ready to spray. The pint makes up to 12 gallons of finished spray, the quart makes up to 24 gallons of finished spray, and the quart hose-end dispenses 24 gallons of finished spray.
